“Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” is one of the most popular couplet nursery rhymes of all time. The words of this poem have been taken from an early 19th-century English poem called “The Star”. The rhyme has been sung to the tune of French melody, Ah! Vous Dirai-Je, Maman. It was published in the year 1761. It was later adapted by various composers including Mozart (keyboard and violin) with Twelve Variations On “Ah Vous Dirai-Je Maman” (piano). Summary:
This is a poem about a little girl who loves to see the shining stars every night. She loves stars so much that she has her own star pillow. She adores her every night. One night before going to the bed, she is looking out from her bedroom window. To her surprise, a little, bright, shining star comes to visit her and say ‘HELLO’ to her.
The little star takes the little girl on a wonderful ride in the sky. On their ride, they see some travelers who are not able to find their way. The star showers its bright light which helps the travelers in finding their way back to shore. Soon, the star and the little girl return to her room, safe and sound.
